Our 48864 dental implants consist of two simple components, but when put together, they so successfully mimic the look, feel, and performance of natural teeth that you may end up forgetting which of your teeth are the “real” ones. At the office of Brian Carlin DDS, we are pleased to offer these state-of-the-art teeth replacements to fill up that empty space where your previous teeth used to be.
First, you will come in for a consultation, during which our implant dentist will conduct an examination and determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. The key thing is that your jaw bone must be thick and strong enough to be able to support the implant, which is anchored in your jaw just like the roots of your other teeth are. You need not worry, though. Even if your bone structure turns out to be insufficient, there is a solution in the form of bone grafting, which supplements your existing jaw bone with tissue from elsewhere in your body. When you have been cleared to have our 48864 dental implants started, the titanium post that is your new root will be surgically placed. Your jaw bone will grow around it and fuse with it, which takes a few months to occur completely. During that time, you will be able to have a temporary denture placed. The final step is to take impressions for your tooth-colored crown, which will be made by the dental lab, and then cemented to your post by our implant dentist. You can then smile, laugh, speak, and chew even the toughest foods with full confidence. And with proper care, this new tooth may last for a lifetime.
